The story
L.H. Thomson Company was founded in 1981 by Loronzo H. “Ronnie” Thomson, with the aim of manufacturing the finest precision aerospace CNC machined parts — made in Macon, Georgia.
Thomson Bike Products started as a favour. In the mid-1990s Ronnie lent his engineering expertise to a pet project for his daughter, then a collegiate mountain bike racer, and produced a one-piece bicycle seatpost. Thomson designed it, patented it, and in doing so applied aerospace engineering to a component the industry had treated as an afterthought. The Elite seatpost became a standard.
The Elite led to the Masterpiece seatpost, then to a range of precision stems and seatpost collars co-designed by Ronnie’s son Brian. Today the lineup covers CNC components, dropper posts, carbon bars, titanium parts and complete frames.
LH Thomson remains a family-run business and a leader in CNC precision aerospace parts. As the company puts it: and we make pretty great bike parts too.
