Where Pure Country Weavers products are made
Lynn, North Carolina
Every throw is woven at the company’s own mill by more than 100 skilled employees. Nothing is outsourced.
Jacquard looms
Designs are woven into the cloth on Jacquard looms using over eight miles of cotton thread per blanket — never printed on the surface.
Solar-powered mill
The mill runs on solar power and uses water reclamation and recycled cotton. Throws are 100% cotton and Oeko-Tex certified.
Pure Country Weavers weaves all of its throws at its own mill in Lynn, North Carolina. The company states it does not outsource any production.
The story
American textiles were supposed to be gone. Between the 1990s and the 2000s the Carolinas lost mill after mill as production moved offshore, and the towns built around those mills lost their reason for being. Pure Country Weavers, founded in 1988 in Lynn, North Carolina, simply kept weaving.
The company now offers more than 3,000 designs — state maps, lighthouses, dog breeds, William Morris florals, licensed fantasy art — all of them woven rather than printed. A printed blanket is a photograph on fabric; a woven one is built thread by thread, which is why the color survives the wash and the texture is on both sides. That distinction is the whole business.
“PCW is the last great American textile mill, woven in North Carolina by 100+ skilled employees.” — Pure Country Weavers
Why they matter
Textiles are the clearest case study in American offshoring. Blankets and throws are cheap to ship and easy to make abroad, so nearly all of them are. A mill that still employs 100-plus people in a small North Carolina town is not a nostalgia act — it is a functioning counter-argument.
It also happens to be the greener option. Weaving on solar power with reclaimed water and recycled cotton, then shipping domestically, beats moving containers across an ocean. Buying American and buying responsibly are usually treated as separate decisions; here they are the same one.

Frequently asked questions
Are Pure Country Weavers blankets made in the USA?
Yes. Every throw is woven at the company’s own mill in Lynn, North Carolina, with no outsourced production.
Are the designs printed or woven?
Woven. Each blanket is made on a Jacquard loom using over eight miles of 100% cotton thread, so the pattern is part of the cloth rather than printed onto it. That is why the color does not fade out of it in the wash.
How do you wash them?
Machine wash cold and tumble dry low. The throws are pre-washed and pre-shrunk at the mill, and owners consistently report they get softer with every wash.
