🏭 Nordic Ware manufactures the bulk of its bakeware at its own plant in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, just outside Minneapolis, where it has operated since 1946. The company casts and finishes its aluminum bakeware domestically; a limited number of accessory items are imported and labeled accordingly.
The story
Nordic Ware was founded in 1946 by Dave and Dotty Dalquist, who began making Scandinavian-inspired specialty cookware in Minneapolis. In 1950 the company created the Bundt pan, which became one of the best-selling bakeware items in American history after a Bundt cake took second place at the 1966 Pillsbury Bake-Off.
Still owned and operated by the Dalquist family today, Nordic Ware makes tens of millions of pieces of bakeware a year and remains one of the last major U.S. manufacturers of cast-aluminum bakeware.
