Where Husky Liners products are made
The current primary plant, opened June 2023. Husky Liners describes it as carrying millions of dollars of state-of-the-art machinery, and credits the move with producing floor liners that are softer, longer-lasting and cheaper to make than the previous generation.
The original facility, where most manufacturing ran for thirty-five years. The company still dates its “Born in the USA | Made in the USA” position to that plant.
When RealTruck consolidated operations it moved production 1,000 miles east rather than overseas. That is the decision that matters here: the obvious alternative for a plastics-moulding line of this kind is an offshore contract manufacturer, and it was not taken.
The 1988 founding year, the Winfield-to-Lawrenceville move, the Georgia plant and the qualified origin statement are all published by Husky Liners on huskyliners.com (USA Factory Tour, updated 1 July 2025). The company’s own qualification that not all products are US-made is why American Manufacturing is used rather than Made in USA.
The story
Husky Liners started in Winfield, Kansas in 1988, making the thing that a Kansas winter makes you want: a moulded liner that catches the mud, salt and meltwater before it reaches the carpet. The category barely existed as a branded product then. Husky helped define it, and custom-fit floor protection became the industry standard largely on its terms.
The line grew outward from the footwell — cargo liners, mud flaps, fender flares, wheel well guards, hood shields, window deflectors, under-seat storage. All of it is the same basic proposition: a precisely moulded piece of plastic that fits one vehicle exactly rather than approximately.
RealTruck acquired the brand in 2016, and in June 2023 moved manufacturing from Winfield to a new plant in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The company is direct about what that move was and was not: production went a thousand miles east, not offshore.
Why they matter
Automotive aftermarket accessories are overwhelmingly imported, and moulded plastic parts are the easiest thing in the category to have made abroad. A company that keeps a large moulding operation in the United States is making a cost decision against the grain, and Husky Liners ties it explicitly to quality control and to avoiding import and tariff exposure.
It is also worth noting what the company does not claim. Plenty of brands imply domestic manufacture and let the customer assume it covers everything. Husky Liners states in the same paragraph as its factory tour that not all of its products are made in the United States and that the Georgia plant uses globally sourced materials. That candour is the reason the rest of the claim is credible.
For a buyer, the practical test is the product list. The company publishes which lines are made stateside — Weatherbeater and X-act Contour floor liners, cargo liners, wheel well guards, fender flares, mud flaps and the rest — rather than making you guess from a badge on the box.
