Our assessment

Camco does the single most useful thing a mixed-sourcing manufacturer can do: it publishes the answer per product and lets you filter on it. Some lines are American, some are made in Asia, and the company tells you which is which before you buy.

Where Camco products are made

Origin is a published field, not a slogan
Every Camco product page carries a Country of Origin entry. That is a per-SKU disclosure of the kind most consumer brands never offer, and it makes any individual claim checkable in seconds.
The filters put a number on it
Camco’s own collection pages expose a “Made in the USA” facet with live counts — 43 of the products in Sanitation and 3 in Water Filters on the day we checked. The sanitation and water filtration lines are where the American manufacturing is concentrated.
The company names its overseas plants
Camco’s About page states it “operates from five U.S.-based facilities and multiple facilities in Asia.” General accessories are largely imported, and the company does not obscure it.

The Federal Trade Commission reserves an unqualified Made in USA claim for goods that are all or virtually all of domestic origin. Camco makes no such blanket claim — it labels each product individually and openly runs plants in Asia as well as the United States. This profile is therefore American Manufacturing, and any claim about a specific Camco item should be read off that item’s own Country of Origin field.

The story

Camco was founded in 1966 in Greensboro, North Carolina, and grew into the company whose products sit in almost every RV in North America — sewer hose kits, holding tank treatments, inline water filters, levelling blocks, the unglamorous hardware of life on the road.

The brand portfolio is largely in-house rather than acquired badges: TastePURE for water filtration, TST for tank treatment, Rhino and RhinoFLEX for sanitation, Eaz-Lift for towing, Olympian and Sidewinder elsewhere in the range. That vertical ownership is what makes the origin disclosure possible — a company that only distributes cannot tell you where things are made.

Today Camco runs five US facilities and, by its own account, several plants in Asia. The American manufacturing did not disappear into that mix; it concentrated. The sanitation and water filtration lines are where it lives.

Why they matter

Per-SKU origin disclosure is rare and it is the thing that actually changes shopper behaviour. A shopper who wants an American-made sewer hose kit can find one on Camco’s own site in two clicks; a shopper looking at a brand that only says “proudly American” on its About page cannot.

It also makes the company accountable in a way a slogan does not. A published Country of Origin field is a statement Camco has to keep accurate across thousands of items, and it is checkable by anyone.

For the RV category specifically, this matters because so much of it is commodity plastic and hose. That Camco still makes any of it in North Carolina, and is willing to say exactly which of it, is worth knowing.

Camco questions

Are Camco products made in the USA?

Some are. Camco publishes a Country of Origin field on every product page and a “Made in the USA” filter on its collections — 43 products in Sanitation and 3 in Water Filters carried it when we checked. Other items, including many general accessories, are made in Asia.

How can I tell which Camco products are American-made?

Read the Country of Origin field on the product page, or use the “Made in the USA” filter on Camco’s own collection pages. Camco is one of the few brands in this category that lets you do that.

Where is Camco based?

Greensboro, North Carolina. Camco’s own About page states the company was founded there in 1966 and operates from five US facilities plus multiple facilities in Asia.

Which Camco lines are most likely to be US-made?

Sanitation — the Rhino and RhinoFLEX sewer hose kits and TST holding tank treatments — and the TastePURE water filtration range. Accessories are the most likely to be imported.
