FTC note: The “100% Made in USA” language is Bully Tools’ own representation, well supported by in-house forming, welding, molding and finishing plus local supplier sourcing reported by Ohio economic-development officials.
The story
Bully Tools was founded in 1994 by Mark Gracy, a former Pittsburgh building inspector who left his job, invested his savings, and started the company in a 1,500-square-foot space with a single product — a shingle remover — and no manufacturing background.
In 2006 the company moved to Steubenville, Ohio, building a modern plant where it now makes more than 100 lawn-and-garden, snow and specialty tools entirely in-house. It reports repaying state expansion financing years ahead of schedule and employs around 70 people in the Ohio Valley.
I had little funding and no one to do the manufacturing — I had to learn how to make tools without a playbook. — Mark Gracy, founder
Why they matter
Bully Tools is a rare hand-tool maker that kept its entire production chain domestic — forming, welding, heat-treating, molding and finishing under one Ohio roof rather than importing heads and handles. That vertical model supports skilled American jobs, keeps supplier dollars local, and backs a lifetime warranty on commercial-grade tools, an alternative to imported disposable tools.
