Benebone says it keeps production close to home and names the whole chain: ingredients, materials, tooling and packaging. Naming the tooling is unusual — it is the part most companies quietly source abroad even when the moulding is domestic.
Using real bacon rather than a synthetic flavourant changes the process and the supply chain, and it is one of the reasons the company gives for making the chews where it can watch them being made.

The story
Benebone started from an observation about pet-store aisles: too many neon colours, too many squeaks, and much of it made overseas. The company decided to start from the dog instead of from the shelf.
Three facts shaped the first product. Dogs like real flavour, not the idea of it. Dogs push a chew past what most materials will take. And dogs have no thumbs, so a chew that will not stay put is a chew they cannot use.
The answer was a curved, extremely tough nylon chew flavoured with real bacon and shaped so a paw can pin it. The Wishbone came out of those three constraints, and the rest of the range — dental chews, bacon sticks, the Zaggler, the Tongue Twister — followed from the same approach.

Why they matter
Dog chews are a category where almost nothing about the manufacturing is visible to the buyer, and where the product ends up inside an animal. Origin is not a preference here; it is the only handle a customer has on the supply chain.
