The company fabricates in City of Industry, California, in a factory “equipped with the most advanced and finest precision stainless steel fabrication equipment.”
The 42-inch and 56-inch ALXE grill pages each carry a “Made in the USA” section describing grills “designed by commercial appliance experts and built by grill industry veterans,” with heli-arc hand-welded seams.
The About page says all products are made in the USA, but that page predates the newer lines, and the refrigeration, pizza oven and AIPG pages say nothing about origin. This profile covers the grills.

The story
Alfresco’s founders came to outdoor grills from restaurant kitchens. The company says they designed commercial kitchen equipment “for many of the world’s finest restaurants,” with clients including Wolfgang Puck, Emeril Lagasse, California Pizza Kitchen and the Cheesecake Factory.
The principals — CEO Jeff Bernstein, COO Jeff Elliott and CFO Edwin Hovsepian — have worked together since the 1980s, and the company credits Elliott with building the first Viking range prototype.
In 1999 they launched Alfresco as a luxury residential line, bringing commercial construction outdoors: heavy stainless, hand-welded seams, and grills up to 56 inches wide.
Why they matter
Premium outdoor grills are a category full of imported stainless. Alfresco fabricates its own in Southern California, with equipment and people drawn from the commercial kitchen trade.
One of its principals puts it simply on the company’s About page: “I love that we are American manufacturers who make a fabulous product.”
The company is part of Superior Equipment Solutions, a commercial equipment maker — which is where the skills behind the grills come from.
