Where AeroPress products are made
AeroPress lists its products in four groups: manufactured in USA, manufactured in USA and China, manufactured in China and Italy, and manufactured in China. Each group names the actual products. This is the level of disclosure origin claims are supposed to have and almost never do.

The story
The AeroPress was invented by Alan Adler, a Stanford engineering lecturer with more than forty patents to his name, who had already designed instrumentation for military aircraft, nuclear reactors and submarines, a paraboloid telescope lens, dozens of flutes and the Aerobie flying ring. He began work on a new kind of coffee maker in his garage in Palo Alto, California.
More than thirty prototypes later he introduced it at Coffee Fest Seattle in November 2005. The design has barely changed since: a plastic cylinder, a plunger, a paper filter and air pressure, producing a concentrated cup in under a minute with none of the grit or bitterness of a French press.
It found its audience among people who take coffee seriously and travel. There is now a World AeroPress Championship, and the company runs it. That is an unusual position for a small kitchen device made largely of polypropylene.
The manufacturing has stayed mostly American, and the company is unusually precise about the word mostly. The Original, the Go, the Clear, the Clear XL and the Original XL, plus the paper filters, the carafe, the funnel and the filter holder, are manufactured in the United States. The glass Premium, the stainless Steel, the manual grinder and most accessories are not, and AeroPress names each one.
Why they matter
Almost every consumer brand that manufactures partly abroad handles it the same way: a Designed in California line, a flag somewhere on the packaging, and silence about the rest. AeroPress instead published a table. You can read the model you are about to buy and find out where it was made before you buy it.
That matters here because the products are not interchangeable. The Original and the Go are American-made; the Premium and the Steel are not. Without the company own list, a shopper buying the premium-looking version would reasonably assume they were buying more of the same origin, and would be wrong.
It is also a reminder that designed in the USA is not a manufacturing claim. AeroPress says its products are conceived and designed in the USA, and then separately says which ones are manufactured there. Keeping those two statements apart is the whole difference between an honest origin claim and a misleading one.
