Company details
Where PureBites products are made
Of its freeze-dried ingredients the company writes: “we mainly source them from the USA, and freeze dry them in our Texas kitchen.” Product pages repeat it: “Freeze dried in the USA.”
PureBites marks origin product by product. Beef Freeze Dried Dog Treats and Chicken Freeze Dried Cat Food carry “Made in USA”; Chicken Pâté for Dogs, on the same site, carries “Made in Thailand.” The badge system discloses imports as readily as domestic production.
The company’s owners, head office and packaging kitchen are in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec, and its FAQ says freeze-dried product is bagged in the USA or Canada. The freeze-drying itself — the manufacturing step — happens in Texas.
What this emblem covers. PureBites states “Made in USA” on each freeze-dried product and says the freeze-drying happens in its own Texas kitchen. The emblem covers that freeze-dried range only. PureBites is headquartered and owned in Canada, and its pâtés, broths, mixers, squeezables and sprinkles (Made in Thailand) and air-dried jerky (Made in Canada) are not covered.
The story
PureBites started in 2005 with an idea it still prints on the bag: turn it around and read the ingredients. The first product, launched in 2006, was single-ingredient freeze-dried beef liver; chicken breast followed.
The company is Pure Treats Inc., based in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec, and it is candid about it — its President, Marc Cathcart, signs a “Proudly Canadian” letter describing a Quebec team and a Quebec co-packing kitchen.
The freeze-dried line took a different route. The company says it sources those ingredients mainly from the USA and freeze-dries them in its own Texas kitchen, and the product pages carry the Made in USA badge to match.
Why they matter
This directory profiles companies for where they make things, not where their head office sits. A Canadian-owned company running a freeze-drying operation in Texas employs American workers in an American facility, and that is what PureBites is recognised for here.
Its disclosure is unusually clear for pet food. Every product carries an origin badge, and the badges say Thailand and Canada where that is the truth — so a shopper can choose the US-made range without guessing.
Freeze-drying is a manufacturing step, not a relabel: it is where raw beef and chicken become a shelf-stable treat. PureBites keeps that step in the United States.

Is PureBites an American company?
