Our assessment

Evergreen is unusually specific about a division of labour most brands would leave vague: “Our hard cases are manufactured by our partner Seahorse in La Verne, California, in a solar-powered facility. Every foam insert is designed and cut by our own team in Fullerton, around the gear it protects.” Its ammo case states “Country of Origin: Made in California, USA” on the product page. Its camera sling states nothing. Both facts are reported here.
La Verne, California
is where the shells are injection-molded, by Seahorse — a separate Southern California case manufacturer and Evergreen’s founding partner, in a solar-powered plant.
Fullerton, California
is where Evergreen’s own team designs and cuts every foam insert, and where the company is based.
2 of 4 sampled
product pages carried an origin statement. The ammo case and the medical drybox did; the flagship EDC hard case and the camera sling did not.

Scope of the claim
Covered: the hard cases, injection-molded by Seahorse in La Verne, California, and the foam inserts designed and cut in Fullerton. Not claimed: soft goods including the Legacy Mini camera sling and apparel, and some case listings such as the SE56 EDC case, none of which carries an origin statement.

Where Evergreen Cases products are made

The shells are contract-molded, and the company says so
“Evergreen grew out of a partnership with Seahorse, a Southern California manufacturer of heavy-duty protective cases.” The shells are made in Seahorse’s La Verne plant, which Evergreen notes is solar powered.
The foam is Evergreen’s own work
“Every foam insert is designed and cut by our own team in Fullerton, around the gear it protects.” The custom side of the business adds UV printing, laser etching, engraved plates and machining.
The marking is inconsistent, so nothing is defaulted
The 56 Pistol Ammo Case reads “Country of Origin: Made in California, USA” and “Every Evergreen 56 ammo case is manufactured in California.” The SE56 EDC case — the flagship — carries no origin statement at all, and neither does the Legacy Mini camera sling. Silence on those pages is not evidence, so they are left unclaimed.

What this emblem covers. Evergreen states that its hard cases are manufactured by its partner Seahorse in La Verne, California, and that its foam inserts are designed and cut by its own team in Fullerton. Some individual case listings and the soft-goods range carry no origin statement, and are not covered. Because the shells are contract-molded rather than made by Evergreen itself, the profile describes the arrangement rather than implying Evergreen owns the moulding plant.

The story

Most protective-case brands would rather you did not ask who actually runs the injection moulding machines. Evergreen leads with it. Its About page says the company “grew out of a partnership with Seahorse, a Southern California manufacturer of heavy-duty protective cases,” and that the shells come out of Seahorse’s solar-powered plant in La Verne.

What Evergreen does itself is the part that decides whether a case is any good: the foam. “Every foam insert is designed and cut by our own team in Fullerton, around the gear it protects.” A hard case is a box; the foam is the product.

The range covers everyday carry, photography, the outdoors, firearms, medical and collectors, sold direct and through Scheels, Tractor Supply, MidwayUSA and Huckberry. The company adds custom work — bespoke foam, UV printing, laser etching, engraved plates and machining — and backs every hard case with a limited lifetime warranty.

Why they matter

The 56 Pistol Ammo Case is a good illustration of how precise this company can be when it wants to be. The page states “Country of Origin: Made in California, USA,” describes a “precision-molded hexagonal cavity pattern” that “holds exactly 100 rounds of 9mm ammunition,” and specifies an IP67-rated polycarbonate shell with an automatic pressure equalisation valve.

The awkward fact, reported here because a profile that hides it is not worth emailing to the company, is that the SE56 EDC case — Evergreen’s best-known product, a Men’s Health Outdoor Award winner — carries no origin statement on its page, while the ammo case beside it does. Neither does the Legacy Mini camera sling. Under this campaign’s evidence rules, an inconsistent marker cannot be read either way, so those products stay unclaimed until Evergreen says otherwise.

Owner Chris Bowlby runs the business from Fullerton. Products have turned up on the Today Show and in Forbes’ National Parks series, which is a reasonable outcome for a company whose core competence is cutting foam accurately.

Evergreen Cases questions

Where are Evergreen cases made?

“Our hard cases are manufactured by our partner Seahorse in La Verne, California, in a solar-powered facility. Every foam insert is designed and cut by our own team in Fullerton, around the gear it protects.”

Does Evergreen make the cases itself?

It makes the foam itself, in Fullerton. The case shells are injection-molded by Seahorse, a separate Southern California manufacturer that Evergreen describes as the partnership the company grew out of.

Are all Evergreen products American-made?

No — and the answer has to be product by product. The 56 Pistol Ammo Case states “Country of Origin: Made in California, USA.” The SE56 EDC case and the Legacy Mini camera sling carry no origin statement at all. Check the individual product page.

What is the warranty?

“Every hard case is backed by our Limited Lifetime Warranty.”
