Where Dr. Harvey’s products are made
Dr. Harvey’s transcribes its own label onto its product pages: “Manufactured by: Dr. Harvey’s, 200 Industrial Way West, Eatontown, NJ, 07724.” Its Behind the Scenes page describes “our state-of-the-art factory” and says the recipes “are crafted in small batches right here in the United States.” A manufacturer line with a street address is the strongest ordinary evidence a food company can offer.
Two herbal supplement labels — Ortho-Flex and Kidney Health — read “MADE IN THE USA with domestic and imported ingredients.” That is the FTC’s qualified form, and Dr. Harvey’s prints it rather than the unqualified one. Some treats go the other way and claim the protein: the freeze-dried minnows and the cat chicken hearts are each “single ingredient pure USA sourced protein.”
The base mixes say “we use only certified organic grains grown in the United States,” but the bird blends contain Brazil nuts, cashews, macadamias, papaya, mango and pineapple, and the traditional-Chinese-medicine supplements use Rehmannia, Codonopsis, Astragalus, Cordyceps and Reishi. Neither the Limited Ingredient dog food nor the Perfect Parrot Blend carries any origin language. Those lines are not claimed here.
American Manufacturing is the honest label. The manufacturing is domestic, named and owned — an address on the label, not a co-packer — but the ingredient stream is openly mixed, and Dr. Harvey’s says so itself in the FTC’s qualified wording. This page uses the company’s own sentence rather than the stronger one it deliberately avoided.
The story
Dr. Harvey’s has been “helping companion animals since 1984,” trading as Healthy Formulations, Inc. and family-owned throughout. The idea it built on was unfashionable at the time and is now mainstream: dehydrated whole-food base mixes that an owner rehydrates and combines with their own protein.
The range runs from those base mixes and complete dehydrated foods through freeze-dried single-ingredient treats — minnows, chicken hearts — to herbal supplements, fish oils and bird blends. Production is in Eatontown, New Jersey, about ten miles from the company’s Atlantic Highlands office.
The factory address appears where it counts: on the label, transcribed onto the product pages. “Manufactured by: Dr. Harvey’s, 200 Industrial Way West, Eatontown, NJ, 07724.”
Why they matter
Pet food is one of the most co-packed categories in American retail. A great many brands are marketing companies whose product is made by someone else entirely, and a bag rarely says which.
A “manufactured by” line with the brand’s own name and its own street address answers that question in the one place a regulator requires accuracy. Dr. Harvey’s has one.
Its choice of the qualified claim is the other half. Writing “with domestic and imported ingredients” costs marketing impact and buys credibility, and it is the sentence that lets a reader trust the rest of the label.

Dr. Harvey’s questions
Is Dr. Harvey’s made in the USA?
It is made in New Jersey, in the company’s own qualified words. Labels read “MADE IN THE USA with domestic and imported ingredients,” and the manufacturer line gives the plant address: 200 Industrial Way West, Eatontown, NJ 07724.
Who owns Dr. Harvey’s?
Healthy Formulations, Inc., trading as Dr. Harvey’s. The company describes itself as family-owned since 1984 and discloses no parent, holding company or outside investor.
Are the ingredients American?
Some are stated to be: the base mixes use “only certified organic grains grown in the United States,” and the freeze-dried minnows and chicken hearts are “single ingredient pure USA sourced protein.” Others plainly are not — the bird blends contain Brazil nuts and tropical fruit, and the herbal supplements use Asian botanicals. The company’s label wording covers both.
Why is this labelled American Manufacturing rather than Made in USA?
Because Dr. Harvey’s qualifies its own claim, and because two lines — the Limited Ingredient dog food and the Perfect Parrot Blend — carry no origin language at all. The manufacturing is domestic and named; the ingredients are mixed, and the company says so.
