Company details
Where Gabriel Cosmetics products are made
Under the FAQ heading “Where are your products made?” the company answers: “Our products are made in the USA, with the exception of our pencils.” No hedging, no “formulated in,” no “designed in.”
Pencils — eye definers, cream brow pencils, classic lip liners and eyeliners — are carved out by the company itself. Those items should not be treated as American-made.
The claim covers the catalogue as a whole rather than appearing on each product page. That is weaker than per-SKU labelling, but it is a first-party statement made in answer to a direct question.
The Federal Trade Commission reserves an unqualified Made in USA claim for goods that are all or virtually all of domestic origin. Gabriel Cosmetics makes a qualified claim — the whole catalogue except the pencils — and we have recorded it as the company wrote it. That qualification is why this profile reads American Manufacturing rather than Made in USA.
The story
Gabriel Cosmetics built its catalogue around mineral and plant-derived colour at a time when “natural” in cosmetics mostly meant a claim on the front of the box. Its own About page describes a company that “prides itself on the integrity and transparency of which it was founded” — language that would be unremarkable if the FAQ did not then back it with a specific manufacturing answer.
The house runs three lines. Gabriel is the core colour and skin care range. Zuzu Luxe is the bolder colour line, best known for its nail polish and lip products. Clean Kids Naturally is a children’s bath and body range. All three sit under the same origin sentence.
The company does not publish a founding year anywhere on its site — its About page says only “for the past 30+ years” — so this profile does not assert one. We would rather leave a fact out than source it from somewhere that cannot be checked.
Why they matter
Cosmetics is a category where contract manufacturing is the norm and origin is rarely stated at all. A brand that answers the question in its own FAQ, in its own words, is doing something a shopper can actually act on.
The pencil exception matters more than it looks. Cosmetic pencils are made on specialised wood-casing lines, and very few of those remain in the United States. A brand that keeps the rest of its production domestic and imports the one item it cannot source at home is being accurate rather than evasive.
It also sets a standard worth applying elsewhere. “Made in the USA except X” is a more useful sentence than a blanket claim, because it tells you the company knows where its own goods come from.

Foundations, powders, lipsticks, mascaras, skin care and nail polish all sit inside the company’s US-made statement. The pencils do not.

Gabriel Cosmetics questions
Are Gabriel Cosmetics products made in the USA?
Mostly. The company’s own FAQ states: “Our products are made in the USA, with the exception of our pencils.” That covers the Gabriel, Zuzu Luxe and Clean Kids Naturally ranges.
Which Gabriel Cosmetics products are not made in the USA?
The pencils. Eye-defining pencils, cream brow pencils, classic eyeliners and lip liners are excluded by the company’s own wording and should not be treated as American-made.
Where is Gabriel Cosmetics based?
Redmond, Washington. The company publishes a Redmond mailing address on its professional and privacy pages; it does not publish a street address for its facility.
When was Gabriel Cosmetics founded?
The company does not publish a founding year on its own website — its About page says only “for the past 30+ years.” We have not asserted a year rather than take one from a source we cannot verify.
