Panels, hooks, brackets and shelves are stamped, formed and powder-coated in Wall Control’s own plant outside Atlanta — the same operation that has been metal-stamping since 1968.
20-gauge steel, not hardboard
The face is steel rather than pressed wood, so peg holes do not fray, elongate or blow out, the panel is magnetic, and it will not swell or warp in a humid garage.
Imported add-ons, disclosed
A few plastic accessories — certain cabinet bins — are made in China, and Wall Control says so on the product page: “All Wall Control Metal Pegboards, Hooks, and Shelves are Made in the USA but add-ons may be manufactured elsewhere.”
The distinction worth keeping straight: everything structural is American-made in Georgia. The exceptions are a small number of plastic add-on items, which the company discloses itself, item by item, rather than hiding behind the brand-level claim — and some of its plastic bins are US-made too. We also could not verify where the raw steel coil is melted, so we make no claim about the steel’s origin.
The story
Wall Control did not start as a product idea looking for a customer. It started as a shop problem. The family business — a sheet-metal stamping and tool & die operation outside Atlanta dating to 1968, making everything from automotive components to satellite panels — needed heavy-duty tool storage for its own industrial complex and could not find anything on the market worth buying.
So they engineered their own, prototyped it on their own floor, patented it, and by 2007 had hard-tooled the full line for mass production. The design solved the thing that makes traditional hardboard pegboard maddening: a patented slot-and-hole face that takes both standard quarter-inch peg hooks and Wall Control’s own double-offset slotted hooks, which stay put when you pull the tool off. A formed three-quarter-inch perimeter flange lets a panel mount in one piece straight to the wall — no rails, no cleats, no framework.
Three generations now work under one roof in Tucker, Georgia, and the company remains family owned and operated.

Why they matter
Pegboard is about as commodity as a product gets, and commodity products are exactly the ones that left. The version most Americans grew up with — brown pressed hardboard that sags, frays at the holes and eventually dumps a wrench on your foot — is cheap to import and cheap to replace, which is the whole business model.
Wall Control is the counter-case: a domestic manufacturer that competed by making the product roughly ten times stronger instead of a few dollars cheaper, and that stayed vertically integrated enough to actually control it. When a company owns the tooling, the stamping and the powder-coating line, “Made in USA” is a description of how the thing gets built rather than a sticker applied at the end.
